Assessment

Assessment at Sacramento State takes place on two parallel tracks. Institutional assessment addresses the entire Strategic Plan and is coordinated by the Council for University Planning which is chaired by the Provost and staffed by the Provost's office. Academic program assessment derives from the program review process that is coordinated by the Provost's Office and involves the Faculty Senate Curriculum Policies Committee. Program review is linked to the Strategic Plan through the Academic Programs theme of the Plan.

Academic Program Assessment

Program Portfolios

These documents are reviewed by an external consultant and an internal program review team as part of the program review process.

Equity Programs Assessment Reports
OIR generates the assessment reports annually for the seven Equity Programs. Four measurements are adopted to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs: Enrollment trend, Second year retention rate, First-term GPA and Good Standing rate. The reports demonstrate the impacts of each program on student academic performances based on statistical analyses. All of the reports are password protected.

Learning Communities and Freshmen Seminar Assessment Reports
OIR generates the assessment reports annually for the Learning Communities and Freshmen Seminars (excluding EOP participants). Four measurements were adopted to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs: Enrollment trend, Second year retention rate, First-term GPA and Good Standing rate. The reports demonstrate the impacts of each program on student academic performances based on statistical analyses and the survey results.
